It does not replace brushing your teeth. Always brush before you put your aligners back in, so you do not trap food against your teeth.

Dental chewies are small, soft cylinders you bite on. When you put in a new set of aligners, a small gap can stay between the aligner and a tooth. Biting on a dental chewie presses the aligner fully onto the tooth, so it fits the way your treatment plan was designed.

Pulling an aligner the wrong way can bend it or put strain on your teeth. The aligner remover helps you in that case to remove your clear aligner without damaging it. You will find further instructions in the manual that is included in your starter kit.

If you feel a rough edge on an aligner, you can file it a little with the aligner file. This will not affect your treatment.

Aligners wrapped in a napkin are one of the most common reasons they get lost. The clear aligner case gives them a safe home every time you take them out, for meals, for brushing or for a coffee.

The mirror helps you check that your aligners fit after you put them in; look to see whether they sit flat on your teeth and whether any gaps show at the edges. If something looks wrong, bite gently on a dental chewie or message your doctor.

A simple daily routine with clear aligners

• Wear your aligners as your orthodontist instructs. They only work when they are in your mouth.
• Take them out to eat and to drink anything other than water. Put them in the case right away.
• Brush your teeth before you put the aligners back in. Food stuck between your teeth will make the aligner work harder.
• Clean your aligners in the ultrasonic cleaner regularly, to keep them transparent and your teeth hygienic.
• Change to your next set every 2 weeks, unless your doctor tells you otherwise, and send your photos in the app consistently.

If something does not feel right

A little pressure when you start a new set is normal and usually settles in a few days. If an aligner cracks, feels very sharp, does not fit or goes missing, do not wait and guess. Message your doctor in the app and send a photo. It is much easier to fix a small problem early.
