Your treatment plan is the roadmap of your whole treatment, from the first scan to your last retainer. This guide shows each step at Proalign Smile Shop in Business Bay, so you know what happens and when.
Step 1: Free scan and assessment
Your plan starts with the free first visit: a ten-minute 3D scan on the 3Shape scanner, professional diagnostic photos, an initial cleaning and a full oral health report. You get all your questions answered and a fair estimation of your treatment cost and your instalments options. Read more about what happens at your free consultation.
Step 2: Your 3D treatment plan
Once your free visit is done, our clinical team of orthodontists, who are experienced in clear aligners, designs your plan on the computer. In specialised 3D software, they map out how every single tooth will move, step by step, from where it is today to where it should end up. Your plan is then sent to our in-house doctor, who reviews it carefully before anything is final. It shows how many aligner sets your case needs and your estimated timeline.
You see all of this at your second visit. We show you a 3D preview of your teeth moving, so you can watch your smile take shape on screen and ask us anything you like. Once you are happy and approve the plan, we make your aligners.

Step 3: Your aligners are made
Once you approve your plan, we print your aligners in house at the clinic. Each set goes through our quality-control process, so you know it has been checked before it reaches you. Around one week after you approve, your first aligners are ready.
Step 4: Wear and change your aligners
You wear each set for about two weeks, 20 to 22 hours a day. The Proalign patient app reminds you when to change. Each time you change, you send a photo through the app and your doctor approves it. If you lose or break an aligner, message your doctor in the app and get advice on the spot.
Step 5: Check-ups
You keep the follow-up visits your doctor asks for, and all of them are included in your price. Between visits, your doctor follows your progress in the app. If your teeth are not following the plan, your clinical team can spot the issue directly and adjust it. And that is one of the points where smart communication through our app is important.
Step 6: Refinement, if you need it
If a few small movements are left once your initial treatment plan is done, one refinement is included in your treatment price if your teeth need it. Read more about what a refinement is.
Step 7: Retainers
At the end of treatment you receive 3 retainers to keep your smile in place. Wear them as your doctor tells you.

How many aligners will I need?
It depends on your case. Your 3D plan shows the number of sets, and each set is worn for about two weeks.
Can the plan change during treatment?
Yes. If your teeth are not moving as planned, your clinical team can adjust the plan. Close observation through our app is important.
